Garry's Mod Rules Rules

Admin Dodging is intentionally evading punishment or bypassing a punishment currently set.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Admin Dodging:

• Leaving/swapping servers to avoid punishment, such as mutes/gags
• Relogging to reset applied punishments, such as non-persistent mutes/gags
• Using an alternative account to bypass extended punishments, such as bans

Bypassing the AFK system is automating movement or minimal movement to reset the AFK System timer. Minimal activity may result in a kick, or will be escalated if done repeatedly.

Cheating is using systems outside of Lambda Networks or exploiting issues to gain an advantage over other players.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered cheating;

• Using hacks, such as aim-assist, triggerbot, wallhacks, radars, etc.
• Using scripts to gain gameplay advantage, such as bhop scripts, zoom binds, or other script automations.
• Using external crosshairs.
• Obtaining case drops with multiple accounts.
• Abuse, exploitation of the daily challenge system using multiple accounts.
• Exploiting bugs in the map or system to gain gameplay or market advantage over other players.

Scamming is intentionally misleading other players or avoiding the trading system to gain unfair profit.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered scamming;

• Performing trades outside the Trading System.
• Misleading other players, such as intentionally giving incorrect price estimates or offering poor value items/float values

Spamming or Flooding is excessively using voice chat, text chat, or certain actions in-game to intentionally disturb other players.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Spamming/Flooding;

• Ear-raping (maxing out microphone volume)
• Playing music through voice chat
• Repeating points or messages excessively in voice or text chat
• Advertising non-Lambda Gaming servers, communities, for-profit websites, or hacks
• Advertising the trading/selling of items outside the community market or outside the trade advertising system
• Excessively shooting/knifing other players in the Skin Testing Environment (Trigger Spam/Knife Spam)

Spraying inappropriate material is using the Source Spray system to place any inappropriate images in the in-game world.

Under our rules, the following content is considered inappropriate for a spray;

• Any NSFW imagery, such as pornography
• Content illegal under UK law, such as bestiality or child pornography. This applies to any form of such content, including animated
• Disturbing, violent, or shocking content

Excessive or toxic behaviour is intentionally attacking or hassling another player or member of Staff.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered excessive/toxic behaviour;

• Verbally attacking other players
• Extreme discrimination (Racism, anti-Semitism, etc.)
• Backseat Moderation (Demanding admins to do certain things)
• Intentionally flaming/provoking/harassing other players
• Encouraging other players to break any of these rules on our servers

For servers which require high levels of communication, please only speak English. This applies to;

• Trouble in Terrorist Town
• Surf Deathmatch

You are purely responsible for your account on Lambda. “Account” includes your Lambda website account, Steam account while playing on our servers and your Discord account while using our Discord server.

We won't take excuses like “My account was hacked”, “My brother did it”, “My cat did it” etc.

If your account is banned due to it being hacked or someone else using it, this will not be a valid reason for ban appeals. Your account, your responsibility.

This doesn't mean the management team will randomly ban you or others, however in the case that a user bends the rules or proceeds to cause a disruption to others which may not be covered by the rules set out, then the management team will discuss and vote on the termination of access for the user in question.

Random Deathmatch is wrongfully killing another player without justification.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered RDM;

• Innocents or Detectives killing innocents without reason
• Innocents or Detectives killing Detectives
• Traitors killing other Traitors
• Random throwing of grenades into active map areas (this includes before the round begins)
• KOS (Kill on Sight) with insufficient evidence (Avoid calling KOS as a Traitor, as this may cause innocents to unknowingly RDM)
• KOSing any players in a specific area of the map
• Physics-related kills, such as prop-killing or jumping onto other players to kill them
• Killing players for not Traitor testing as an innocent, only Detectives can do this
• Killing RDMers as retaliation, including when admins are offline. Use + before your message to talk to other servers if an admin is required
• Randomly killing Traitors with a Remington

However, some actions in-game are not considered RDM;

• C4 explosions killing other traitors, as Traitors have a clear indicator of C4s on the map
• Evidence-justified kills, for example, if an innocent believes an RDMing innocent is a traitor
• Killing a player with a KOS placed on them, if the KOS was not justified, the player who called the KOS will be warned
• Accidently killing a player in a shootout with another player, this is crossfire.
• Killing Traitors with a Remington with valid suspicion

Ghosting is communicating with alive players when dead to give them an advantage in-game.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Ghosting;

• Telling alive innocents/detectives who is the Traitor
• Telling alive players where other players are in the map
• Giving hints to gameplay (backseat gaming)

Prop-abuse is using physics props in-game as an unfair advantage over other players.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered prop abuse;

• Prop-surfing to any areas, accessible or inaccessible
• Using props to push other players away
• Killing players with props by swinging or throwing the prop at players
• Killing players with props by pushing them off tall drops

Camping is staying in a certain area for an extended period of time. This may vary depending on the location.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered camping;

• Staying in the Traitor room for longer than 30 seconds
• Camping at doorways to kill any player who enters. This includes portals to areas on the map, and this rule also applies to traitors

Traitor baiting is performing certain actions in-game to cause other players to think you are a Traitor.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Traitor baiting;

• Shooting weapons randomly or excessively
• Attacking other players, even if once
• False confessing in text or voice chat, sometimes even if sarcastic
• Random throwing of Grenades

Name-change spam is changing your name using Steam or through the in-game tools excessively, or to gain a mid-round advantage.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered name-change spam;

• Changing names repeatedly in a single session
• Intentionally changing name mid-round for a Gameplay advantage

AFK is being inactive for a period of time during the game.

• Under our rules, the following are considered AFK
• Short-term inactivity 30 seconds into a game, such as leaving the computer, using other applications mid-game, etc.
• Idling in spectator to grind Payday money/experience

Ghosting is communicating with alive players when dead to give them an advantage in-game.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Ghosting;

• Telling alive players where other players are in the map
• Giving hints to gameplay (backseat gaming)

In Surf Deathmatch, camping is considered staying in a single area for longer than 10 seconds, including Telecamping (camping beside or a teleporter for any period of time or pre-firing the teleporter). As Surf Deathmatch is a dynamic game, this applies to all players including snipers.

Gungame Griefing is intentionally ruining the point of Gungame and/or being intentionally annoying for other players by the way you play the game.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Gungame griefing;

• Teaming with a player on another team

Stronghold Griefing is intentionally exploiting the disadvantage of other players to get kills or take bases.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Stronghold griefing;

• Building props around spawn areas or spawn points to trap newly spawning players.
• Repeatedly killing players respawning at manually placed spawn points without attempting to destroy the spawn points.
• Joining a team to gain access to a base, and leaving to kill the members of the team.
• Spamming grenades in a short period of time.

Prop abuse/spamming is using props in an unfair way to gain advantage over other players.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered prop abuse/prop spam;

• More than three layers of props in one area of passage
• Excessive or random placement of props, including using smaller props to block passage. More than 5 props placed without any clear structure is defined as Prop Spam
• Using more than one prop to block a doorway
• Partially or completely blocking any public passage (areas of the map which are needed for players to move freely)
• Excessive props in a single layer, such as using lots of smaller props rather than larger props

Cinema Griefing is intentionally annoying other players or preventing them from properly watching the film.

Under our rules, the following actions are considered Movie Night griefing;

• Standing up at any time during the movie
• Standing on seat rows without sitting down
• Intentionally trolling other players with requested videos
• Spoiling the plot of the film

You should also;

• If you are forced to sit down, you must stay in the seat until the end of the film.
• Do not try and jump up to the back area, only staff can get there
