Summer 2026 Music Kit Competition is now here! - Create a summer themed electronic music kit and submit it by - Enter Now!
Music Kits are economy items that play music during certain in-game events.
Music kits allow the player to customise their experience rather than having to use standard music which cannot be changed.
As part of content creation in Lambda, we allow the community to create their own music kits and upload them to the workshop to be voted on by the community for inclusion as economy items in-game.
There's a lot that goes into creating a music kit. You cannot simply bundle some music together and call it a day; you have to use different themes of music for different situations that relate to the in-game state, and this can take a lot of trial and error.
Generally, for music kits to be accepted as economy items, you will need to ensure that:
We prefer it if you create your own music and grant Lambda the right to use it indefinitely, however you may use music from other artists. We prefer if you can obtain permission from the artist in question, however this is not required.
Lambda Networks pays a music licensing fee, and as such any signed music used is covered under this.
To get started with music kits you'll need the following:
Music kits are built using Composer, the music kit tool in Lambda Content Authoring Tools.
Composer checks your sound files against the naming and length requirements as you import them, renders your cover artwork onto the in-game record model so you can preview your kit, and lets you configure variants.
When your kit is ready, export it from Composer to Lambda Citadel, where you can compile it and publish it to the Lambda Workshop.
